Smetana Reborn in Rome

Pianist Matyáš Novák brings to Rome Italian premiere of Smetana Reborn, featuring the complete solo piano transcription of Smetana’s symphonic cycle Má vlast by Jindřich Kàan from Albest. Originally written for orchestra, the work is reimagined for piano in a virtuosic transcription inspired by the tradition of Liszt, revealing orchestral color, narrative depth, and Smetana’s profound connection to Czech history, landscape, and national identity.
